SF-86-08-1 — Control Concepts for Evaporative Cooling Systems

$7.50

Conference Proceeding by ASHRAE, 1986

Category:

Description

Evaporative cooling systems are being used with increasing frequency and in more diverse applications as engineers and owners become acquainted with their application and benefit. With this increasing activity, manufacturers have developed more literature regarding the design and application of their products. Control system development, however, is still in its infant stage. Although there are many possible combinations of components, there are some fundamental control principles that apply with great regularity to both the individual components and the total systems. This paper presents some basic control philosophies for each component and builds them into system philosophies. This paper includes descriptions of the control components, control sequences, and illustrations including psychrometric charts that describe evaporative cooling control theory.
