Liquid freezing systems freeze and chill food products such as poultry, sausage and shrimp. Types of liquid freezant include food-grade sodium chloride (NaCl2) solution, calcium chloride (CaCl2) and propylene glycol. Each freezant has specific applications. Mixtures of sodium and calcium chloride are used to lower the freezing. point. Inline spray-type liquid freezers/chillers have a plastic conveyor belt with ample openings to pass the massive flow of sodium chloride feeds into the fiberglass liquid freezer enclosure.
