Description
Noise control in commercial office building development today occurs by chance rather than by design because of a lack of knowledge and experience on the part of the participants of the design development team. Improved attenuation of sound from noise generators and better acoustical environments can be achieved by demanding standard sound data from the manufacturers of mechanical equipment, establishing design guidelines to assist architects and engineers in noise control specifications, and the publication of information on noise control in trade periodicals to improve its availability.
