Engineer's Notebook: "Sweep" Parking Garage Exhaust Systems

Description

Sweep designs can be made to work for almost any garage architectural layout, including multi-level garages with transfer fans used to prevent stagnant areas by moving air from one level to the next. The author provides several examples of sweep systems, saying that, in most cases, the sweep system can be designed without using computational fluid dynamics, but CFDs can be a useful tool for more complex layouts.
