Description
The “intelligent building” represents an evolving understanding and use of electronically enhanced and structurally advanced building design and construction. Building structure, systems, management and services are all involved and should be designed to be mutually supportive in order to maximize the comfort, security and productivity of the occupants.
As building occupants become more aware of the availability of cost-effective solutions to their wants, they will become more demanding. In today’s real estate climate, building owner-developers will be more responsive to these wants. There will be a ready market for ASHRAE members’ designs and products and it behooves ASHRAE members to understand and support the concept.
