Description

Actual data from over 300 houses in Ontario, Canada under actual operating conditions has been collected and reported on in this paper. It is hoped that this data will supplement previously published information (1) concerned with quantifying residential energy consumption for electric-, gas-, and oil-heated houses; establishing relative utilization efficiency for electric-, gas, and oil~heating systems; and verifying the adequacy of the degree day method of calculating energy consumption and clarifying any discrepancies found in ASHRAE recommendations.
