This standard providessafety requirements for low-velocity powderactuatedfastening tools that propel studs,pins, fasteners or other objects for thepurpose of affixing them, by penetration, tohard structural material (such as concrete,masonry or steel).
This standard does not apply to devicesdesigned for attaching objects to softconstruction materials (such as wood,plaster, tar and dry wallboard) or very hardor brittle construction materials (such ascast iron, glazed tile, hardened steel, glassblock, natural rock, hollow tile and mostbrick).
