AC-83-16-2 — High-Rise Refrigerated Storage

$7.50

Conference Proceeding by ASHRAE, 1983

Category:

Description

High-rise refrigerated storages have evolved from multistory buildings and floor-stacking to single-story buildings with the product floor-stacked to single-story buildings with the product on racks to high-rise storage with stacker cranes. High-rise facilities require the coordination of mechanical (sprinkler) design with the Insurer. Refrigeration design requires coordination with material handling system design in load calculation. A simplified basic load requirement curve is presented. A method of reducing load calculation to compressor and air unit requirements for central station and unitary equipment is presented. Sizing of compressors and coordination with variations in load is noted.
