Description
Variable pressure~volume pumping offers the heating and air-conditioning industry the opportunities of saving energy and prolonging the usefule life of equipment. What is variable pressure-volume pumping? It is any pumping system which varies the water pressure and flow in a system so that the actual pressure and volume produced by a pump match that required by the system. Fig. 1 describes the general configuration of a variable pressure-volume system. It differs from variable volume pumping in that the pressure is varied with demand as well as volume. The term “variable pressure-volume” will be indicated as “VPV” in the following discussion.
