Conference Proceeding by ASHRAE, 2001

Category:

Description

A numerical model is proposed to simulate the transient heat and mass transfer in the reactor of a zeolite 13X-H2O adsorption refrigeration system. The nonlinear governing equations of the reactor have been solved using a finite-difference method. The convergence of the numerical solution was ensured by means of a physical estimation method of adsorption rate (W) and pressure (P). A computer program has been used to predict the dynamic thermal response of the reactor. The relations between the following parameters have been obtained: the zeolite temperature, pressure, power, desorption rate, water vapor average temperature, and time. The experiments performed were in good accordance with the computer simulation. The results of this study will provide reference and guidance for adsorption reactor engineering design.
