Description
The current state of cool storage terminology is not clearly defined for design engineers, building owners, and building operations and maintenance (O&M) personnel to use. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate the development of a descriptive framework for describing and characterizing cool storage operating and control strategies. In contrast to the fairly one-dimensional definition process currently used, this developed framework is a multi-dimensional terminology that includes both a descriptive narrative and a graphical representation. The framework ensures consistency of definitions between the various parties involved in the development and implementation of operating strategies for cool storage systems.
