3955 — Application of an Unsteady-State Model for Predicting Vertical Temperature Distribution to an Existing Atrium

$7.50

Conference Proceeding by ASHRAE, 1996

Category:

Description

Applies a new, non-steady state calculation model to predict the vertical temperature distribution in an existing low-rise atrium that has a skylight and is affected by transmitted solar radiation. Presents detailed calculation procedures that use the model, with all the boundary conditions, and carries out analytical simulations for the cooling condition. Compares calculated values with measured results. Finds that the model can be applied to the design of a large space. Also discusses the effects of cooling the occupied zone and compares them with those of all-zone cooling.
