Description
Examines theoretically the feasibility of installing and operating an air curtain on an 0.91m by 2.75m (3ft by 9ft) doorway for a retail sales facility. Compares the energy transferred through the passageway if the door was left open continuously or opened periodically with that if the continuously-open door was equipped with an air curtain. Presents the results. States they show that a typical air curtain provides energy savings over the continuously open case, which returns the investment and operating costs in two air conditioning seasons.
