Description
Duct fittings (e.g., bends, takeoffs, sudden cross-sectional area changes, dampers, etc.) are important sources of HVAC system noise. They also provide a modest attenuation of the ductborne noise incident upon them. This research project, RP 265 (Ver 1983), sponsored by ASHRAE, deals with both of these aspects. In this project, more emphasis has been placed on the noise generation process.
