Description
This guideline was developed in response to a need expressedwithin the rail passenger vehicle industry to adopt a moreconsistent approach to the design and application of heating,ventilating, and air-conditioning systems in rail passengervehicles that can be used as a basis for future designs. Thisneed evolved from informal discussions among the rail vehicleindustry's operating, supply, and technical support membersand several different professional committees that workto address rail passenger vehicle issues, including the AmericanPublic Transit Association (APTA), the American Societyof Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and the Rail Transit StandardsCommittee (RTSC), a Division of the Institute of Electricaland Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
