3286 — The Influence of the Vapor Permeability of Clothing on Thermal Discomfort

$7.50

Conference Proceeding by ASHRAE, 1989

Category:

Description

Generally, in problems concerning thermal comfort or heat stress, the vapor resistance of clothing is neglected, although two moisture permeability indices have been introduced and measured for some fabrics or clothing. Only recently has a model begun to be used which utilizes one of the two indices.

In this paper the classic formulations and the new one are reviewed and, by the Gagge DISC index, the influence of vapor permeabifity on thermal discomfort is emphasized.
