RP-1168 — Exhaust Contamination of Hidden vs. Visible Air Intakes

$15.00

Report / Survey by ASHRAE, 2002

Category:

Description

This research project will determine if hiding intakes around a building edge is in fact the best design practice. It will provide numerical estimates of the added exhaust-to-intake dilution resulting from hiding the intakes, for use by building designers. This information will aid designers in better placing inlets and exhausts to reduce the intake of exhaust pollutants into a building.

This research project will compare the effects on exhaust-to-intake dilution for hidden and visible air intake locations. It will produce a set of design guidelines and a dilution calculation procedure suitable for inclusion in the ASHRAE Handbook of Fundamentals or Applications Handbook.
