3622 — Influence of the Expansion Device on Air Conditioner System Performance Characteristics Under a Range of Charging Conditions

$7.50

Conference Proceeding by ASHRAE, 1993

Category:

Description

Experiments were conducted to characterise the effects of refrigerant (R22) charge, type of expansion device (capillary tube and thermostatic expansion valves (TXV), and outdoor temperature (82 deg.F to 100 deg.F) on the system performance of an air conditioner. The results show that the TXV system performance variables showed a small variation with the refrigerant charge but a strong dependence on the outdoor temperature.

KEYWORDS: air conditioning, refrigerants, R22, thermostatic valves, valves, outdoor temperature, performance.
