Description

A high-lift absorption refrigeration cycle called the “vapour exchange” cycle has been applied to the problem of producing refrigeration from low-temperature waste heat. Diesel engine jacket cooling water at 75degC is used as the heat source to produce 10 tons per day of flake ice for a remote community. The icemaker has successfully operated for two fishing seasons at Kotzebue, Alaska.
