AT-96-20-4 — A New Absorption Chiller to Establish Combined Cold, Heat and Power Generation Utilising Low-Temperature Heat

$7.50

Conference Proceeding by ASHRAE, 1996

Category:

Description

States a combination of the standard single-effect and double-lift process has been identified as a new cycle that can use driving heat down to return temperatures of about 55degC (131degF) and permits temperature glides in generation of more than 30K. Thus a large cooling capacity can be produced from the same heat source compared to a single-effect chiller run with the same heat carrier supply temperature and mass flow. States the process can be operated with industrial waste heat as well as with low temperature heat (ie from solar collectors) as driving heat for air conditioning. The large temperature glide and the low return temperature especially fit the operating conditions in district heating networks during the summer. Describes the cycle and discusses suitable operating conditions.
