RP-1027 — Chloride, Fluoride and Acidity Measurements in Refrigerants

$15.00

Report / Survey by ASHRAE, 1999

Category:

Description

The objective of this research project is to develop 1) a system to collect refrigerant samples for acid, chloride, and fluoride analysis. Also, investigate the availability and use of an inert sampling vessel that will resist chemical reaction between the sample and vessel surface, and 2) an analytical procedure that accurately measures the acid and chloride/fluoride levels in a refrigerant. These methods must have the capability of measuring a minimum acid concentration of 1.0 ppmw (as HCl) and chloride/fluoride concentration of 3.0 ppmw, and be cost effective.
