3711 (RP-493) — Glycol Concentration Requirements for Freeze Burst Protection

$7.50

Conference Proceeding by ASHRAE, 1993

Category:

Description

This study was conducted to determine experimentally the concentrations of ethylene glycol and propylene glycol required to provide freeze burst protection for heat exchange equipment. In order to make use of this freeze protection, provision for volume expansion must be included for the heat exchangers in the system design. Care should be taken in extending the results of this study to other applications.

KEYWORDS: experiment, ethylene, propylene, designing, frost protection, temperature, heat exchangers, freezing, thermal movement.
