Description

All buildings exposed above ground are subject to the changeable airflow patterns which are apart of the atmospheric envelope in which the building is immersed. Since meteorology is thescience of the atmosphere and the changes therein, airflow around buildings is subject to themany variables which take place within the atmosphere. For this paper, the meteorologicalinfluences will be considered as they relate to general flow patterns and/or vertical mixingwithin the atmosphere outside and beyond the cavity influences of the building itself. Thedimensions of the cavity boundries are described and illustrated in Chapter 15 of the ASHRAEHANDBOOK 1974 APPLICATIONS.
