Description
Simple and direct methods for evaluation of clothing insulation while worn are becoming of increasing interest to engineers and physiologists in the evaluation of human responses to the thermal environment. The effective temperature ET* (of ASHRAE STANDARD 55-74) of any environment is a function not only of temperature — dry bulb, wet bulb and mean radiant -but also of air movement present and the insulation of clothing worn. All these environmental factors, except clothing insulation, are routine measurements to heating, ventilating and airconditioning engineers.
