Description
This standard practice provides guidance for properly engineering and implementing maintenance painting programs for electrical substation apparatus. Subjects covered include surface preparation, coating selection, application, inspection, safety and hazardous waste considerations, and contractor qualifications. There are two appendixes; one with a sample painting specification and another about alternating current minimum safe working distances. This standard is maintained by Task Group (TG) 457.
